This was quite an adventure to get this photo. We started out at 4:00am in Hilo and had about an hour boat ride to get to this vantage point when the sun was just beginning to rise. Getting here was so beautiful the stars were reflecting in the ocean and you really couldn’t tell where the sky met the ocean because of the glassy refection on the water. A very magical moment. Lots of Manna here. When the lava hits the ocean it raised the temperature of the water from 80° to around 110°. We were only allowed to be 30 yards from shore. Aloha!
