This is a second Super Cell that formed at night that was dropping a ton of bolts. It was pitch black. We were on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. We had now been about five hours without cell service, but here we were shooting lightning on a beautiful June evening and it was about 75° and quiet and the sound of rolling thunder… and cows mooing. When we finally got done shooting and went to check into our hotel, but they had dropped our reservation and there were no other rooms near by. So we decided to head off to Alexander, Montana where the next day’s storms were going to be. That’s another three-hour drive, which is why we drove about 1,000 miles that day!
