This custom wall collage installation was created for a retail space bathroom using curated vintage comic book imagery sourced from public domain archives dating back to the 1940s and 1950s. Designed to feel immersive, nostalgic, and visually layered, the installation transforms the space into a full-scale comic-inspired environment rooted in retro pop culture aesthetics.
To create the piece, original vintage comic pages were sourced and digitally edited into a cohesive black-and-white palette before being printed on oversized 12” x 18” newsprint sheets. Each panel was individually arranged and installed by hand to create a continuous collage effect inspired by classic comic book layouts and archival wall treatments.
The installation process itself was intentionally hands-on and experimental, including the creation of a homemade wheatpaste adhesive made from flour, sugar, and water—a traditional technique commonly associated with street art, poster work, and large-scale public installations.
