As a teen I listened to the Notorious B.I.G. with no clue about the struggle faced by so many young black Americans. I did however witness racial discrimination from police officers as most of my friends were hispanic. Seeing injustice first hand is disheartening to say the least. There's a vicious cycle of poverty, crime and hopelessness that needs to be broken.
