As a young child growing up in Long Beach California Geaniel took every opportunity to fill her life with anything creative. The ocean and its many wonders was a wonderful classroom. Moving to Maui Hawaii in 1976 was the beginning of her artist evolution. There Geaniel met her first big influence, Japanese artist Yoshiko Fujita. Later returning to Santa Cruz and then Santa Barbara Geaniel studied under renown artists Howard Ikemoto, Tom Allen and Master Artist Buck Paulson.
